The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe - DOB Banner

What is The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe?

On November 26th, we commemorate The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Known as a powerful feast day, it falls on the last Sunday of Ordinary Time, before the following Sunday of Advent. This solemnity was established in 1925 by Pius XI to place Jesus Christ at the center of everything.

As we celebrate Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, we are reminded that It is He who reigns supreme. Jesus is King, who is both God Divine, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The day recaptures the centrality of Jesus Christ. It also encourages us to live out our faith in public.

Almighty ever-living God, whose will is to restore all things in your beloved Son, the King of the universe, grant, we pray, that the whole creation, set free from slavery, may render your majesty service and ceaselessly proclaim your praise.

Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
