
What is Religious Freedom Week?
Religious Freedom Week is June 22-29, 2023. During this week, the Church and all religious communities practice their beliefs openly and serve the common good. Catholics to pray, contemplate, and act to promote religious freedom beginning June 22, the feast of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher. Religious freedom protects everyone from practicing their faith and puts their beliefs into action.
Thursday, June 22: Respect for Sacred Places - Pray that people will be able to gather in sacred spaces without fear of attack.
Friday, June 23: Seal of Confession - Pray that governments respect the seal of confession as the church in our country continues to remove clergy abuse.
Saturday, June 24: Nicaragua - Pray for those in Nicaragua who are suffering Catholic brothers and sisters.
Sunday, June 25: Religious Student Groups - Pray that youth groups are free in their Catholic missions.
Monday, June 26: Religious Freedom in Nigeria - Pray for compromise of religious tensions in Nigeria over land and resources.
Tuesday, June 27: Faith at Work - Pray that employers welcome faith.
Wednesday, June 28: Service to Immigrants and Refugees - Pray for refugees and immigrants as well as those who serve them.
Thursday, June 29: Catholic Healthcare - Pray that governments respect those who care for the sick and vulnerable.
